Accreditation

Accreditation is a guarantee that our childcare program is committed to constantly improving and striving to provide the best care possible. All of the Butler YMCA Child Care sites are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare and meet the state’s standards for staffing, health and safety practices, nutrition, enrollment, ratios, and record keeping. Regular inspections assure that our center complies with all state regulations; however, we strive to go above and beyond these requirements to provide excellent service and safety for each child in our care!

Keystone Stars

Keystone STARS is a rating system that promotes quality improvement in early learning and development programs and school-age child care. A Keystone STARS designation informs parents that their children are in a safe, respectful environment in which they are learning new things every day to support their current and future success in school and in life. All of our YMCA child care sites voluntarily participate in this program.

When you choose a Keystone STARS program, you know it meets high quality standards for:

  • Staff education: Early childhood teachers have the training and knowledge for working with young children
  • Classroom/Learning environment: The program has a variety of materials and activities for each age level that makes it possible for children to learn something new every day!
  • Including families and the community: Families and community members are encouraged to become a part of the child’s learning progress
  • Leadership and management: A quality program has to have sound business practices to ensure your child’s safety and early learning
